L’Occitane Opens First Certified Sustainable Wellness Center

L’Occitane has opened the world’s first Ecocert-certified Sustainable Wellbeing Center in Mane, France.
The L’Occitane en Provence Spa at the five-star Le Couvent des Minimes hotel has made history as the first spa worldwide to receive this certification.

The Sustainable Wellbeing Center certification is given to establishments that uphold rigorous environmental standards across their products, services, equipment and management – ensuring a harmonious balance between people and the planet.

The Sustainable Wellbeing Center certification is built on three core principles:
• The use of certified natural and/or organic products
• Social responsibility, including workplace wellbeing
• A commitment to reducing environmental impact

Certified spas must adhere to strict guidelines, including:
• Responsible management of natural resources.
• The use of certified natural, organic, ecological or recycled cosmetic, textile and cleaning products.
• Incorporation of sustainable, recycled materials in spa accessories and furnishings.
Ethical practices that support staff wellbeing.

As part of the certification, annual audits will be carried out to guarantee the sustainability of the efforts undertaken and to ensure constant progress towards new sustainability objectives.
