Avon has announced that it all its products are now approved by Cruelty Free International’s Leaping Bunny Programme.
In July 2023, the first Avon products received Leaping Bunny approval. Theese were the Fragrance, Avon Care, and Anew ranges. All products will now carry the Leaping Bunny logo.
The extensive certification process involved screening over 8,000 raw materials and engaging suppliers for over 4,000 raw materials. The lengthy process meant Avon took a phased approach, with products achieving the Leaping Bunny certification throughout the last 12 months.
Ecovia Intelligence Comment: Avon is one of many brands investing in sustainability schemes and ethical labels. In this case, the Leaping Bunny verifies that none of the cosmetic ingredients and finished products have been tested on animals. Earlier this year, The Body Shop got its products certified by The Vegan Society to confirm that no animal-based ingredients are in its formulations. Halal is another scheme that is gaining traction because of ethical consumerism.
We shall feature sustainability schemes at the upcoming Sustainable Cosmetics Summit, hosted in Paris on 23-25th October. More details are on the website
